Residential

Building or Renovating

BASIX (the Building Sustainability Index) is a NSW Government initiative to ensure homes are designed to be responsible for less greenhouse gas emissions.

All new residential dwellings, as well as renovations with estimated costs of works of $50,000 or more, must obtain a BASIX Certificate before a development application can be processed.

Natural Gas is an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective energy choice. Including Natural Gas in your development plans is a simple step towards securing BASIX compliance in the most cost-effective way. To find out if your residential development requires a BASIX Certificate, visit www.basix.nsw.gov.au.
